The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. I'm just a beginner,,,,,, but it was love at first brush stroke!!! I took my first watercolor lesson about 10 years ago, on a whim, just to see and to experiment. My very first attempt produced an abstract flower and I fell in love with it; and it still remains my favorite piece. So much so, that 3 years later, I took it out of the frame and added more details. There's so much to learn, so much to do!
