This is a collage of my very own cat - Michael. I took various photographs and made a collage of them and then transferred it to watercolors. He must have admired it; he jumped up into the middle of the picture while I was painting on it!

I'm just a beginner,,,,,, but it was love at first brush stroke!!! I took my first watercolor lesson about 10 years ago, on a whim, just to see and to experiment. My very first attempt produced an abstract flower and I fell in love with it; and it still remains my favorite piece. So much so, that 3 years later, I took it out of the frame and added more details. There's so much to learn, so much to do! Painting, and taking pictures to use as reference material, has really opened my eyes to Mother Nature - truly the greatest artist of all. I have learned to stop and smell the roses of life; if nothing else, shake my brain out of it's accountant's mode and truly appreciate the creativity of others. Please take heed - when the...
